Verify the recognition
So a Bournemouth Excellence Award can be checked — not just claimed.
The strongest thing an award can say is not “trust us” but “verify us.”
As the inaugural awards are delivered, we are building the public record that lets anyone confirm a result and understand how it was reached. This page explains what that record is and how to use it.
01Published criteria
The criteria for every category are published, so anyone can see what a win was assessed against — before, during and after the awards. See the Judging Criteria and the individual categories.
02Judge profiles
The judging panel is published — who they are and the experience they bring. The inaugural panel is being assembled now, and profiles are published as members are confirmed.
03Award verification
From the inaugural results onward, every winner and finalist is listed in the official results record. Winner badges and certificates can be checked against that record — if a claimed award is not in the record, it is not a Bournemouth Excellence Award.
04Results records
Results are published and retained year on year, building a permanent, checkable history of who was recognised and in which category.
05How to check a claim
- Find the business in the published results for the relevant year and category.
- Confirm the tier claimed — semi-finalist, finalist, runner-up or winner — matches the record.
- If a claim isn’t in the record, or a badge is being misused, tell us via our contact page.
06What we will not do
- We will not issue recognition that is not in the record.
- We will not backdate, sell or fabricate a result.
- We will not let a badge stand for something it wasn’t earned for.
Don’t just trust the recognition. Verify it.
